Parts and Engineering Sales Manager
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is parts sales and business development
- He or she interfaces with the customer and inside sales staff for all over the counter and/or through the shop parts business
- Works closely with other departments to ensure customer’s parts and services needs are met
- The candidate must provide a professional, customer-oriented approach to our clients
- Promote sales of all Metric product lines and services to existing and prospective customers and actively up-sell where the opportunity exists
- Spend time surveying the market for potential customers and reach out to new customer leads through cold calling
- Promptly and accurately handle customer enquiries and parts orders, either in person, via telephone or emails to maintain positive customer relationships
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
- Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
- Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
- Maintain current, detailed working knowledge of Metric Products and Services
- Effectively use computer systems for parts, inventory, and service-related functions
- Generate part numbers, parts lists and quotations for both in house and outside enquiries
- Oversee parts store condition, order picking and verification, and stock control/annual stock take
- After hours parts collection
- New part number suggestions/stock development
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Matric, 5 plus years CAT parts / engine sales experience preferred
- Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
- Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office products and the ability to learn and effectively use other software
- Ability to work independently; be accountable, accurate, methodical and work with little supervision
- Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Excellent oral and written communications
- Must possess a current valid Driver license and have a clean driving record
- Must learn, understand and adhere to company policies
- CAT diesel engine product knowledge
- CAT SIS knowledge
